Talk to Toni? - This is not aligned with grassland mgmt, so should be handled independently by CNPS - Need to talk with CNPS about backing this? Funding it? - County is supportive in principle but needs an actual plan before proceeding - Need to design experiment for this - Apply fencing in some areas but not all - Gather data to determine efficacy - Again, talk to Toni about this? - ZeNon (zero non-native) sites, aka Native Expansion Areas, or ANCORs (all-native conservation/restoration) - Yes, we want to proceed with starting up this effort - Possibly have CNPS be official sponsor? - Grassland mgmt folks to select/define the sites/protocol, with feedback/reviews from us as plans develop - Once plans firm up, remeet (City Pub?) to review plans, pick official name etc - Target location is Mow Site 1 - Large area (5 acres or so?) for general, low level grass treatment - 1 (or more) ZeNon sites at center, ~1 sq meter each, managed by Weed Warriors - Intermediate treatment levels and experiments in area(s) surrounding ZeNon site(s) - Bird program - Paul to coordinate with Lee Franks and County - Ensure efforts don't conflict with our own - Help ensure efforts are as effective as possible in meeting Lee's goals - County to keep us informed of any mowing plans for bird program that we might not be aware of - Paul to be invited along on Lee's mowing planning walks with County - Coordination with County - Signage for special sessions at trail heads? - John is ok with this - County has new sign maker and could help with printing up the signage - Aim for doing this for June/July sessions, sooner if possible - National Public Lands Day event - This will again be a County event rather than a Weed Warrior event - We will support/publicize/cooperate as appropriate - Try to arrange a special subgroup on this day to attack Harding Grass? - Earth Day session on 4/19 - Nick can go ahead and advertise this as one of the County's Earth Day events - Just make sure it's publicized/arranged as our regular event, per our plans - Formalization of Weed Warrior scouting efforts - How to officially work scouting into our program? - Run scouting trips on ad hoc basis this year - Need to reschedule Clarkia Trail scouting trip - Will scout Thornmint site in June/July - Next year, try to plan 1/2 dozen or so official scouting outings? - Action items - Bill & Christal to work on mapping - Harding Grass small/outlier populations - Medusa Head small/outlier populations - Are all adopt-a-sites mapped? - Contact/coord with Caltrans re Harding Grass under freeway - Contact Toni & CNPS about Fragrant Fritillary issues/efforts - Work with grassland mgmt team to set up ZeNon sites/protocols - Work with County on trailhead signage for special sessions - Plan scouting trips - Resched Clarkia Trail - Thornmint in June/July
